Many years ago my grandfather introduced me to bee keeping. I took an interest in beekeeping and my parents helped me purchase a few more colonies from John Craighead a local beekeeper who had a store outlet on his farm selling candles crafts and honey. This was the beginning of my beekeeping career that would end in my late teens when I chose to run wild as young men often do. I still remember the inspector at the time Norm McWaters teaching me how to do a walk away split after finding a few swarm cell's during an inspection. Fond memories of driving to Wooler Ontario when I first got a drivers license to purchase supplies from Neil Orr and the old catalogs from Bensons and few other no longer existing beekeeping suppliers. I can not remember the exact year I started beekeeping this is the earliest record I have found from almost 30 years ago.

This story is such a heartfelt reflection on the journey into beekeeping—those early memories, mentors, and moments of discovery really highlight the deep connection between generations and the hive. It’s amazing how experiences like learning the walk-away split or flipping through old catalogs stay with us. For those who appreciate the full spectrum of bee-derived goodness, this site offers convenient honey packs, including royal honey packs and VIP honey pack options that celebrate the richness and versatility of honey. A beautiful legacy, still buzzing strong!
